Dave Allen is a folk singer-songwriter born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. At an early age Dave was introduced to an eclectic collection of music, from Bowie to Bob Dylan, Joan Armatrading to Supertramp and The Beatles. These songwriters helped to shape the all-embracing qualities of his song craft. Dave experimented with improvised melody and performance in jamming pop & folk songs of the 60’s and 70s with his mother, father and younger sister. These “family jam sessions” took place at family gatherings and campfires to small crowds of kith and kin around Southern Ontario. It was these musical moments that ignited Dave’s ambition for songwriting and creative work. As lead singer-songwriter in the rock n’ soul band Stonetrotter, who had released their full length album ‘Stonetrotter’ in 2015, Dave recorded and performed with the band extensively for 3 years. You can find Dave performing solo or with his Family band in venues across Canada. Dave’s debut full-length record ‘When The Demons Come’ is set to be released in 2017.
